Purpose

The purpose of the Alta California Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America is:

  • To promote the aims of the Military Officers Association of America, as stated in the preamble to the Bylaws of that Association.
  • To further the legislative and other objectives of the Military Officers Association of America.
  • To encourage and facilitate comradeship among retired, active and former officers of the uniformed services.
  • To provide useful services for, and to protect the interests of, members and their dependents and survivors.
  • To further the education of Service members, or to assist local youth training organizations such as Junior ROTC, Civil Air Patrol, and other groups.

Chapter Area

The Chapter area consists of the California counties of Sutter, Yuba, Butte, Nevada, Colusa and Placer, plus such other adjacent locales as shall be determined from time to time by the Executive Committee.

Affiliation

This Chapter is affiliated with the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) by charter. This chapter's rules, regulations, organizational activities and operations are consistent with current published guidance (Chapter Handbook) of the Military Officers Association of America. In addition, this chapter is affiliated, by membership, with Area I (Northern California Counties) of the Military Officers Association of America (CALMOAA) subject to annual review and decision by the Executive Committee.

Current Funding Activities

The chapter's funds are used to accomplish the purposes of our organization. At the discretion of the Executive Committee and concurrence of the membership, donations from chapter funds are made to further the education of Service members, to assist local youth training organizations such as Junior ROTC, Civil Air Patrol, Sea Cadets and Stand Down to Assist Homeless Veterans.
